About
The main goal of using information technologies in the field of medicine is to increase effectiveness, productivity and quality improvement in the delivery of healthcare. In the healthcare field, traditional complex service production systems are being replaced by real-time traceable and controllable smart systems.
The use of artificial intelligence in the delivery of healthcare services not only lead to improved performance and capacity but also creates unique models for the management of healthcare services. The use of informatics approaches in diagnosis, treatment and care processes, developments in digital imaging technologies, the utilization of robotic systems in the surgery, the widespread use of modeling and simulation technologies in education, all contribute to creating a difference in the functioning of healthcare institutions. Despite the initial high investment costs, artificial intelligence technologies in the healthcare field make a significant contribution to measurement, diagnosis, treatment management and monitoring activities with their facilitating and adaptive effects.
While conceptual and technical studies for the future of artificial intelligence applications are ongoing, the ability artificial intelligence systems to demonstrate emotional intelligence which requires design, adaptation and intuition, and to perform multi-tasks similar to the human brain, is not yet possible. Just as in the field of informatics, there are still concerns about ethical reasoning responsibility and ethical decision making in artificial intelligence applications in medicine as well.
The IIIrd Congress on Medical Information Technologies aims to address these issues in all their aspects and to provide a platform for experience and knowledge sharing among the participants from the sector.
